“My experience shows the efficacy and then the opportunity of administering a symbiotic product (FLORENTERO®) in animals that show diarrheic symptoms; this administration appears to be effective at the amounts shown in the label. Moreover treatment with Florentero® for 7 days, also in healthy subjects, could be helpful in gut colonization and in eliminating potential pathogenic bacteria (clostridia). In this case it is of public health concern to highlight that Florentero®, diminishing the concentration of Clostridia, could lower the probability of human-animal contamination. This aspect is an important part of this study because the high level of anthropization of companion animals and their social role.
Moreover, the use of probiotics as prevention is a valid alternative to pharmacologic treatments towards intestinal diseases especially for the fact that it seems to be more natural and so well accepted by owners and because they are widely used in human alimentation.”
